Last updated October 19, 2026 · MopHop, a cleaning service by H&E Cleaning Services LLC, Bandon, Oregon

This explains what MopHop (a cleaning service run by H&E Cleaning Services LLC, Oregon) keeps about you, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep only what we need to run your cleans, pay our crew and keep our books, and we don't sell anything about anyone.

What we keep

  • Everyone: your name, email, phone (if you gave one) and profile photo (if you added one).
  • Hosts and managers: each place you asked about — address, kind and size, how to get in, door codes, pets, supplies, house notes, photos, and the "how dirty is it" answer and photo you sent. Your cleans, add-ons, notes, messages, reviews and receipts.
  • Managed places: the request (dates, how to get in, notes), any removal photos and notes, who pays, and the quotes and who accepted them, with the time.
  • Property owners who approve by email link: your name and email (given to us by your manager), the name you typed when you approved, the time, and the card you added (held by Stripe). You don't need an account. The link itself is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form and stops working after 14 days or when the quote changes.
  • Hoppers and applicants: your application (contact details, availability, experience, references, your answers), read only by MopHop staff. Once on the crew: your schedule, the hours and cleans you work, and pay records. We see your ID in person for the federal Form I-9 and note only which documents were shown, not their numbers. Background checks are run through Certn, a screening company, on their own secure site with your consent; we keep only whether it was sent and the outcome. We never ask for a Social Security number or date of birth in the app.

Your card

Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never touch MopHop's servers. We keep only the brand and last four digits, so you can see which card is on file, and the IDs Stripe gives us for each hold, charge, tip and refund.

Who sees your address and your place

The MopHop lead for your town sees every place there, because they approve places and assign cleans. The Hoppers assigned to a clean see the street address, door details, house photos and the clean's notes from 24 hours before the clean until 24 hours after it's done; outside that window they see only the town and size. Hoppers don't browse places, and Hoppers who aren't on your clean never see it. If you used "use my location" to pin a place on the map, only that pin is kept, not your location afterwards.

Photos

After-photos the crew takes are shown to you right away; the crew on that clean and your town's lead can see them too. They're kept for 90 days after the clean, then deleted. Removal photos are seen by you, the lead, and (if the owner pays) the owner through their link. Photos attached to a report are seen only by the person who filed it and MopHop. A Hopper's profile photo is shown to hosts only after a MopHop lead approves it.

Messages

Each clean has one message thread shared by the host, the Hoppers on it and the town lead. The crew can read and write in it while the clean is assigned and until 24 hours after it's done (a lead can reopen it for a few days). The host keeps their thread. Please don't put door codes or the address in messages — use the place's Getting in details, which the crew sees only 24 hours ahead.

Reviews and reports

Reviews are shown to the other person once both sides have reviewed or 7 days have passed, and ratings become part of a Hopper's record. A report you file goes to MopHop only; the other person learns that a report was filed, never its words or photos.

Your calendar

If you give us a calendar link, we read it when you turn sync on and every few hours after that, and keep only the checkout and check-in dates we need. We don't keep guest names or anything else in it. Turn sync off or remove the link and we stop reading it.

Money records

For every completed clean we keep a record of the price, add-ons, removal, tip, the crew's pay and the Stripe IDs, refunds and disputes. Hosts see their receipts and statements; Hoppers see their hours and pay. These are our tax and payroll records and are kept as long as the law requires (generally 7 years).

What we send you

Emails about your cleans and account (your price, quotes, bookings, crew assigned, on the way, done, receipts, cancellations, card problems) and in-app and phone notifications if you turn them on. We don't send text messages, and we don't send marketing unless you ask for it.

Cookies and this device

We use one sign-in cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser remembers a few settings (like dark mode, and accounts you've signed in with on that device). No advertising or tracking cookies, and no selling or sharing for ads.

Who we share with

Only companies that run part of MopHop for us, each with only what they need: Stripe (card holds and charges), Supabase (our database and file storage, in the western United States), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Certn (background checks, for crew and applicants only), and a payroll provider for the crew's pay. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. Nobody else, ever, and nothing is sold.

How we protect it

Access is locked down person by person: every screen and the database itself check who you are before showing anything, payment details stay with Stripe, and data is sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly safe; if something ever goes wrong with your information, we'll tell you promptly.

Your choices and rights

You can see and change most of your information in Settings and on your places. Email help@mophop.app to get a copy of what we keep about you, fix something, or delete your account. When you delete it we remove your profile, places, photos and messages; the money and payroll records for completed cleans stay, because the law requires us to keep them. We answer within 30 days.

Children

MopHop is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top changes and we tell you in the app. MopHop is in Bandon, Oregon, and Oregon law applies.
